Welcome to the West Hollywood Seismic Retrofit open data portal. Buildings subject the City's Seismic Retrofit Ordinances can be found on this page. Addresses may be looked up individually or a list of all properties subject to the ordinances is also available with the ability to filter the information in various ways.
Being included in the survey only indicates that a building visually appears to be of a specific construction type included within the ordinance and is not confirmation that a building is structurally deficient, hazardous or unsafe. Further evaluation by a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of California will be required to determine if retrofitting is required.
All buildings on this page have been designated a building type which helps to determine which strengthening provisions the buildings must comply with.
SOFT STORY - Must comply with Ordinance 17-1004, strengthening provisions for existing wood-frame buildings with soft, weak, or open-front walls.
CONCRETE - Indicates that the buildings must comply with Ordinance 17-1011, with strengthening provisions for non-ductile concrete buildings.
STEEL - Indicates that the building must comply with Ordinance 17-1011, strengthening provisions for pre-Northridge Steel Moment Frame Buildings.
UNCONFIRMED (CONCRETE/STEEL) - This indicates that the exterior of the building visually appeared to be either a concrete building or a steel moment frame building during a building survey conducted from the public right of way, however there were no record documents on file at the City to make a conclusive determination. Further evaluation by Civil or Structural Engineer Licensed in the State of California will be required unless the Owner can provide documentation to the City to verify that the building does not fit into either of these two categories.
